Infection prevention measures
We will have signage telling members what to do when they enter the facility.
We will have a staff person taking temperatures up entry.
Temperature information will be given to Human Resources after each week of temperature recordings.
People with temperatures over 100 degrees will be asked to leave.
We are taking temperatures of each person that comes in and also asking them if they are feeling sick at all.
Everyone is required to sign a waiver if they would like to use the facility.
If someone refuses to have their temperature taken or sign the waiver, they are not allowed to use the facility.
Masks are required per the governor’s order.
If you see a member without a mask on, please assume they have a medical reason to not be wearing one.
Remember to be courteous to those people that are unable to wear masks.
Prompt identification and isolation of sick persons
If one of our members or staff are not feeling well, we will tell them to go home and see a doctor as soon as possible in order to be tested for COVID-19.
If they cannot go home immediately, we will provide a safe isolated space where they can wait for a ride home.
The YWCA will be flexible when it comes to granting time away from work when COVID is involved. We want to make sure that our staff are comfortable with being honest about their health. If you think it is best that you do not come to work, then we want you to stay home until you are healthy. If you find yourself in a situation where you are sick, talk to your supervisor and we can discuss potential solutions.
If you have been in the same room as the person who has gotten sick for more than 10 minutes, you will be asked to go home and visit a doctor to ensure that you are healthy before returning to work.
This is the same if one of the childcare children get sick. Everyone in the room, included children, would be told to self-quarantine until they have been cleared by a doctor.
Cleaning, disinfecting, decontamination and ventilation
What are we doing in order to ensure the facility is clean and safe for everyone?
Fitness department has sanitizing wipes available.
Members are required to wipe down machines before and after each use.
Fitness attendants wipe down the machines completely every 1 hours.
Membership desk attendants sanitize high traffic areas at least every 30 minutes.
Engineering and administrative controls for social distancing
We are making changes to the layout of the fitness center in order to ensure there is enough space between members while working out.
If staff have a health concern and need an accommodation, they can speak with their supervisor in order to see if there is a possibility of adjusting the duties temporarily to help limit exposure.
We will make sure that we are keeping face to face interactions to a minimum in order to prevent respiratory droplets from being transferred from person to person.
If you have a health issue where you are unable to wear a mask; we have a waiver to sign for our members and a form for staff to have completed stating that you are aware of the mask order, but are unable to wear one.
Staff have up to 3 paid days to produce the completed mask refusal form.
Right now, there is a travel ban in place. Those who have to travel should take extra caution to ensure that they are safe.
People that have traveled to the following states need to be aware that the potential for exposure is higher and they need to ensure that they are taking all the proper precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Communications and training for managers and workers necessary to implement the plan
In order to ensure that our staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform at their best, we will continue to update this document as we learn more so there will be one place where everyone can reference our safety plan.
Supervisors and directors will model the appropriate actions for the staff in order to show them what is expected. Actions that go against our safety plan can be discussed and corrected in order to ensure maximum safety for all staff.
Provision of management and supervision necessary to ensure effective ongoing implementation of the plan
What are we going to do going forward to ensure that our staff will be as safe as possible every day?
Rely on this document and continue to keep it current as we learn new information.
Continue to model good behaviors for the staff and make corrections to staff as necessary.
Any incidents regarding this plan or COVID should be submitted to HR for filing.
We will be looking to Governor Wolf for the next steps that we will be required to take.
