Student Support Center Moves To 909 Fairfield Road

The Student Support program has moved to the main YWCA Gettysburg location at 909 Fairfield Road, effective January 4. The program had previously been housed at Foursquare Church in Gettysburg. This will help relieve staffing challenges, as well as provide students with additional amenities and increased interaction with others.

The Student Support pilot program is designed to serve sixth through ninth graders with supervised spaces, or pods, in which to learn during the virtual portion of their COVID-necessitated hybrid education. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

We are hopeful that we will be able to offer other services through the YWCA such as partnering with the fitness and aquatics center to implement other fitness activities and possibly utilizing the pool once per week.
We also offer breakfast, lunch and snack at our child care facilities and will be looking at possibly providing this service to these students as well.
With original funding now expended, and we will need to begin to charge a tuition fee of $22 per day for the program. We understand this may be difficult for some families and are looking into finding support through Foursquare Church in sponsoring currently-enrolled students.
