How to help YWCA Childcare

Dear Friend of the YWCA,

We are very much looking forward to the day we can open our doors and greet you in person.

Until that day comes, please accept this virtual “hello” on behalf of the YWCA management team.

We have received a waiver to open the YWCA Childcare at Adams Commerce Center, 50 Expedition Trail, so families who work in life-sustaining jobs can go to work while knowing their children are being cared for by a dedicated and competent staff.

Safety always is our number one priority but the steps we must take to ensure safety have increased greatly. We need several items in stock before we can open our doors so we would greatly appreciate your consideration in making donations to our childcare program.

The items we must have are:

  • Touch free thermometers
  • Masks (2 layers of tight weave 100% cotton material)
  • Lab coats or smocks for staff (any size Medium to XXL)

Items that would be nice to have so we do not need families bringing things from home to the center:

  • Crib sheets (for the cots at nap time)
  • Small blankets (for children at nap)
  • Laundry detergent (everything will be laundered daily at the center so we are not sending things home to the families)
  • Diapers / pull-ups
  • Baby wipes

Donations may be left at the door at the Adams Commerce Center. The area is being regularly-checked by staff.

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, you can do so online at www.ywcagettysburg.org/donate-now or mail a check to our main location, 909 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Thank you for your consideration,

Dotty Dalphon, executive director

Teresa Rodgers, child enrichment program administrative director
