A fun, athletic activity for men and women (16+). Each player is required to bring their own stick and other equipment, including goalie equipment. Registration deadline is January 9th 2012 . The league is in play Jan 10-Feb 27.

Women in History essay contest
The YWCA is now accepting entries for the 26th annual Women in History essay contest. The contest is open to 7th and 8th grade students in all Adams County public and private schools, as well as homeschooled students. Thanks to the Gettysburg Times for sponsoring this event once again!
Information has been sent to individual schools in Adams County. Entrants can also download the guidelines and cover sheet using the links below (pdf format) or pick up a packet at the YWCA. Entry deadline is Feb. 6. Teachers, please call ext. 113 or e-mail Ashley Andyshak Hayes if you have any questions.
Rent a Swimming Pool
Our 25 meter swimming is available for any group or individual to rent.
The swimming pool is available on the following days and times:
Fridays 7:00pm-9:00pm
Saturdays and Sundays 2:30pm-4:30pm
You may rent the swimming pool for an hour or for 2 hours.
All rentals of the swimming pool include a minimum of 2 life guards.
Renting the swimming pool also includes the use of our 12 person whirlpool.
The whirlpool can only be used by people over the age of 18.
If you would like to rent half the swimming pool it is only $50 per hour
(applicable only for groups with 20 or less)
If you would like the entire swimming pool it is only $120 per hour

John Marconi is an exceptional personal trainer and service attendant. He always shows up on time and is willing to cover anyone’s shift. He is also willing to accommodate his training clients’ varied schedules. John continues to excel at gaining clients to promote the YWCA. He is an asset to our Sports and Fitness department.
Dancing with the Local Stars
Event begins at 6:00 pm! Join us at the Gettysburg Hotel ballroom for a great fun filled night just like the tv show! Tickets may be purchased at the YWCA service desk.
Women’s Book Review and Discussion Group
“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Schafer. This group is open to all women and meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room. For more information, call coordinator Marian Ruth at 717-677-7198.

Girls and boys, ages 6 to 9, will learn or enhance soccer skills through this coed league. For information contact fitness at ext. 121. Registration deadline is Jan 5th. Program runs from Jan 12 to March 1.
