dancing with the local stars
Tickets are now on sale for a one-of-a-kind Adams County event…..
On Nov. 12, the stars will be at the Gettysburg Hotel Grand Ballroom, and you are invited.
The YWCA will host “Dancing with the Local Stars,” based on the popular television show. Big-name Adams Countians will work hard this fall with a choreographer and this event will showcase their new skills.
The dance roster is in the process of being finalized, but several local stars have committed so far, including John Kramb of Adams County Winery, Michael Cooper White of the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Holly Giles of the Blue Parrot Bistro and Gettysburg Borough Councilwoman, Vickie Corbett from United Way of Adams County, Curt Musselman from the National Park Service, Steve Rasmussen of Adams Electric Cooperative and the YWCA’s own Deb Geesey Yocum..
Each of the approximately eight contestants will dance to two songs with their choreographer and those in attendance will determine who is the top performer. Three judges, also local stars, will comment on the dancers after each performance.
Tickets for this fun, one-of-a-kind, event cost only $15 and go on sale Sunday, Aug. 1 at the YWCA service desk. Seating is limited, so tickets as soon as possible. Free hors devours will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
For more information, contact Tommy Riggs or Derrick Kuhn at (717) 334-9171 ext. 121, or send an email to fitness@ywcagettysburg.org.
