Share a Book
The YW has a member participation library. The library is designed to give members an opportunity to share a book, movie, cd etc. with others when they are finished with it. Many members comment that they have found very good books on our shelves.
The library bookshelves are located in the main hall just past the entrance gate. ![sorted_books[1]](http://www.ywcagettysburg.org/site/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sorted_books1-300x199.jpg)
If you see a book you would like to take and read, just remove it from the shelf and take it along. If you bring it back, please place it back on the shelf. If you choose to pass it along to a friend or do not bring it back, for any reason, that’s fine.
If you have books to add to the shelves, you may stock them yourself or drop them at the service desk and we’ll put them on the shelves. Donations are appreciated.
DVDs and tapes may also be added, but must be originals, not copies.
We are a family facility and ask that all material honor the family with its content.
We invite you to wear out our books. HAPPY READING!
I‘ve traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I’ve been where no-one’s been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.

PA Educational Tax Credits
Pennsylvania has approved the YWCA to accept tax credits from the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) for pre-kindergarten scholarships. These scholarships are available for children ages 3 to 5 who are enrolled in our child care programs. As the largest child care provider in Adams County, our three centers care for approximately 270 children, and almost 40% of those participate in our Pre-K programs.
Pre-K scholarships benefit families that struggle to make full tuition payments but earn too much to qualify for Pennsylvania child care subsidies. This is an important link in making sure all PA children are kindergarten-ready.
Qualifying businesses may contribute to EITC up to $10,000 as a 100% tax credit, and an additional $90,000 as a 90% tax credit. In order to fund EITC Pre-K scholarships, eligible businesses are those authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of PA and must be subject to any of the following taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, or Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax.
Applications for tax credits are processed on a first come, first served basis. With no additional cost to you and with minimal effort, you can make your tax dollars benefit Adams County children through the YWCA today.
