Our facility is fully equipped with a

25 meter pool and 12 person whirlpool!

A variety of classes and activities are offered for all ages.

· Aquatic Fitness Classes

• Aqua Walking: Intense water aerobics, focus on shallow-water walking, stretching and conditioning, and breathing techniques in water.
• Deep Water Conditioning: Use aqua cuffs for an intense and low impact workout in deep water.
• Seniorcize: Cardio conditioning, stretching, strength work in shallow and deep water.
• Twinges (Arthritis Foundation Program): Shallow water exercise - stretching, relieve from aches and pains, arthritis and fibromyalgia.

· Swimming Lessons

• Water Babies: This class provides an introduction to aquatics for children ages 6 months-3 years. Parent and child swim together in this bonding experience.
• Preschool Swim Lessons: T.O.P.S. This program is for 3-5 year olds and provides 4 levels of instruction.
• Progressive Swim Lessons: Based on the American Red Cross Swimming Program, these classes provide 4 levels of instruction from the beginner to advanced level swimmers. Registration is now open for lessons beginning in March.
• Adult Swimming Lessons: Lessons are offered to individuals’ ages 18+.

· American Red Cross (ARC) Courses

• Lifeguard Training: Coed training for ages 15+. Includes Community First Aid & Safety and Adult, Child & Infant CPR certification, textbook and individual CPR rescue mask. Three person minimum per class.
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI): Learn to teach swimming and water safety. Coed training for ages 16+.

· Sharks Swim Team

• This competitive swimming program is open to ages 4-18.
• Summer Season: Registration is currently open and ends June 1^st. Practice starts May 5^th and continues through July. Email the coaches at sharks@ywcagettysburg.org for more information.

· Lap Swimming

• Hours available throughout the week. Pick up a pool schedule at the YWCA Service Desk.

· Recreational Swimming

o Open swim times available throughout the week for your swimming enjoyment.  Pick up a pool schedule at the Service Desk.

o Family Swim: Saturdays 2:30-4:30 p.m. & Sundays 12-4:30 p.m. Open to the public, no membership required. Children under 10 must be with an adult over 17. Infants and toddlers are required to wear a swim diaper.
Under 5 years FREE, 5-15 years $3, 16+ years $5

· Pool Rules

· Pool Rentals - Rent our pool for your Birthday Party, Scout Troup, Church group, or Family Reunion. Contact the Service Desk for information.

· 12-person Whirlpool - Our whirlpool is open to everyone 18 years and older.
