Custodian –Part Time Position

Those who hold this very important position are responsible for making sure YWCA members, staff, and guests enjoy the benefits of a clean environment. We are looking for a dependable, energetic individuals.  The successful applicant must be flexible and willing to work evenings during the week, usually between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., and 5 to 8 p.m., every other weekend rotating Saturdays and Sundays. The position will be required to complete all duties listed on a daily schedule along with maintaining the upkeep of assigned areas and equipment to include: dusting, floor care, bathroom cleaning, painting, vacuuming, sanitizing, trash removal, window washing and other custodial tasks as needed. May be required to operate motorized equipment and set-up and/or tear down furniture for events/meetings. This position requires working with cleaning solvents and chemical compounds and conditions that may create dust and dirt along with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Previous cleaning or custodial experience required. Must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background.

Massage Therapist- Hours are flexible 

The YWCA is looking for a reliable and motivated licensed massage therapist with superior customer service skills to join our team. Hours are flexible during hours of operation. Generous employee discounts, including a free gym membership! The YW offers a competitive commission structure. Must be willing and able to provide favorable clearances, and first aid certification.

 Fitness Facility Manager – Half Time

The Fitness Facility Manager is responsible for managing fitness staff and will have direct supervision of the YWCA Fitness Center, its maintenance, equipment, and cleanliness. He/she will assist in planning, developing, and implementing programs in the Sports & Fitness Department, as well provide program information, assistance, and support to members and staff. Candidate must have management experience and knowledge of fixing and maintaining equipment. This position is flexible, requiring 20 hours per week. Candidate must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse and criminal background check, as well as first aid certification.

 Certified Lifeguard- Part Time

Applicants must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications. A lifeguard may need to possess a pre-employment physical and a skills test. Lifeguards monitor pool activities and ensures member safety. Additional job duties a lifeguard performs include preparing activity and incident reports and performing pool maintenance.

 Child Care Staff- Full Time Preschool Teacher

Child Care – Now accepting applications for a full time lead preschool teacher at our 909 Fairfield Road location.  Candidate must have at minimum a CDA.  A degree in early childhood, elementary education or a related human services field preferred.  Candidate must have previous child care experience along with strong classroom management skills.  Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.  Interested applicants can complete an application and submit to YWCA service desk to the attention of Paula Howard or via email at phoward@ywcagettysburg.org.

Sharks Swim Team Head Coach-Part Time 

Candidate must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. Experience is preferred but training is available. Candidates must be willing to work weeknights between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. and some Saturdays between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. between October and February.

Masters Swim Coach-Part Time

Candidate must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or acquire them within 6 months of employment), and have at least 2 years of experience in coaching a swim team.  Candidate must also be a member of USMS.

Swim Lesson Instructors-Part Time

WSI certification required for this position. Must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED. Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school-age group swim lessons. We are looking for individuals with flexibility.
