Membership Director – Full time, salary

The membership director provides administrative supervision to the YWCA Service Desk procedures and personnel and manages the Membership Department, with responsibilities including, but not limited to: correspondence, data entry and research.

This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the executive director.  Salary ranges from $29,120 to $31,200 based off of experience. Candidates should complete online application and send resume to Drew Harding, human resources director, at dharding@ywcagettysburg.org.

Membership Director job description

Yoga Instructor– Part Time

Must be available some mornings.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Must have Yoga instructor certification.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Child Abuse, criminal background check, FBI clearances.
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to create and monitor safe and effective exercise programs for individuals, as well as recognize a member’s potential and limitations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.

Function : Conduct a workout leading others in a series of dance-like moves. Focus on customer service, member engagement, satisfaction, and retention by building relationships so that members become connected and feel part of the YWCA family.

RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain appropriate certifications.
  • Must develop and conduct safe, fun, dynamic and effective Yoga classes.
  • Design safe and comprehensive yoga class for various participants from diverse group.
  • Provide a high degree of service through a professional relationship with our members and guests in regards to their needs, concerns and questions.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse group of people effectively and diplomatically.
  • Ensure the class area is clean and in order for the next class and that all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong participant enrollments.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Supports the Mission and Vision of the YWCA and build community.
  • Follow and enforce all YWCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures.
  • Completes incident/accident reports, as necessary.
  • Handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment, and with diplomacy is expected.
  • Communicate any equipment problems, member concerns, or suggestions to the Sports and Fitness

Physical Demands: Must be able to physically lead and demonstrate the skill and/or activity that is asked of members.

Lead Gymnastics InstructorPart Time

We are looking for someone who can provide a FUN and Energetic environment! Must have gymnastics knowledge and experience with teaching children gymnastics and/or tumbling. Must be able to prepare lesson plans, lead and demonstrate classes, and answer questions about the program. Hours are flexible. Must be CPR & First Aid Certified.

Massage TherapistHours are flexible 

The YWCA is looking for a reliable and motivated licensed massage therapist with superior customer service skills to join our team. Hours are flexible during facility operation hours.  Must be willing to work evening hours.  Generous employee discounts, including a free gym membership! The YW offers a competitive commission structure. Must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background, and first aid certification.

Lifeguard – Part Time

Do you have a desire to improve lives through exercise? Join a team where you grow and learn while having a fun! The YWCA is currently looking for energetic and driven individuals who want to make a difference.

  • Lifeguards monitor pool activities and ensures member safety.
  • Lifeguards need to possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures.
  • To help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by the YWCA.
  • To ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert throughout an entire shift.
  • Additional job duties a lifeguard performs include preparing activity and incident reports and performing pool maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications.
  • A lifeguard may need to possess a pre-employment physical and a skills test.
  • Candidates must be at least 15 years old.
  • Must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background, and FBI clearances.

Sharks Swim Team Head Coach – Part Time

Candidate must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. Experience is preferred but training is available. Candidates must be willing to work weeknights between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. and some Saturdays between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. between October and February.

Masters Swim Coach – Part Time

Candidate must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or acquire them within 6 months of employment), and have at least 2 years of experience in coaching a swim team.  Candidate must also be a member of USMS.

Swim Instructor – Part Time

WSI certification required for this position. Must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED. Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school-age group swim lessons. We are looking for individuals with flexibility.
