Eight of our members (Carol, Kris, Brooke, Rich, Judy, Barbara, John and me) competed in the US Masters Swimming Summer Nationals at the University of Maryland last week (August 2014). Carol and  I were very pleased and proud of the way everyone swim at a meet at this level.  Six of our swimmers (Carol, Kris, Brooke, Judy, Barbara and John) came away winning medals.

Five members of the YWMA Masters Club had a very successful meet at the first Winter Solstice meet in Germantown, Maryland on December 7, 2013.  Many ribbons and personal best times were collected.  We competed in two relays and swam against a former Olympian in the crescendo relay.

A number of the YWCA Masters swimmers competed in the Chesapeake Bay swim in June 2012 and four members (Rachel, Barbara, Kris and Dave Diehl) competed in the Keystone State Games in July in York and all came away with first-place medals.
In addition, Coach Dave Diehl worked the Olympic Trails in Omaha, Neb., in June 2012 and also competed in the USMS Summer Nationals in the very same  pool the following week with the following results (50 back – 2nd, 100 back -3rd, 200 back – 5th, 50 breast – 7th).  The Adams County YWCA Masters finished 60th out of 120 teams.
