Membership Director – Salary – Full Time

The YWCA is looking for a new membership director. The membership director provides administrative supervision to the YWCA Service Desk procedures and personnel and manages the Membership Department, with responsibilities including, but not limited to: correspondence, data entry and research.

This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the executive director. Salary ranges from $29,120 to $31,200 based off of experience. Benefits include, Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 11 paid holidays, flex time, and much more. Candidates should complete online application at

RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the supervision of the YWCA Service Desk and TLC personnel as well as all procedures. Is ultimately responsible for hiring, evaluating, scheduling and rewarding/disciplining Service Desk Staff and TLC Staff as appropriate.
  • Is responsible for the overall integrity of Membership database, as well as regular Service Desk computer clean-up procedures. Assist, as needed, a Customer Service Representative at the YWCA Service Desk.
  • Assists YWCA Membership committee with the planning, coordination and scheduling of special events such as YW Membership Appreciation Day, YW Membership Drives or any occasion that would be aligned with membership.
  • Runs monthly Membership/building usage data; prepare appropriate invoices and reports and mail to membership one month in advance of membership/rec. pass expiration. Prepare timely reports for Executive Director, Membership Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Works on membership recruitment and retention, plans and executes promotions.
  • Approves, tracks and processes reports of members using insurance benefits we accept.
  • Responsible for rentals of lockers.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
  • Represents the YWCA in a positive, friendly and helpful manner at all times.
  • Works cooperatively with the entire YWCA staff to keep the facility operating smoothly and in accordance with YWCA policies and procedures.
  • Submits and verify payroll timesheets, requested reports and statistics.
  • Plays an active role in promoting all YWCA offerings, other programs and overall member wellness as well as community outreach.
  • Plays an active role in YWCA special events.
  • Furnishes membership benefits information and prices for brochures, news releases and YWorks following the guidelines and established channels of the Association.
  • Expected to meet an 8 hour day in line with stated work schedule with a maximum of 40 hours per week. Variations to this schedule require preapproval from Executive Director.

Membership Director Job Description

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher – Full Time Starting August

The YWCA is looking for a Full-Time, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m candidate with a degree relating to Child Care to provide high-quality childcare to the children. Pay is between $11.00 and $12.00 an hour depending on experience. Must be able to communicate in a clear and positive manner. Will be responsible to assist and lead educational and fun activities each day, remaining highly interactive with the children at all times. Will be responsible to create a good working relationship with parents for the purpose of having consistent communication and best serving their children. Will be required to provide consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the children at all times.Candidates must have 2500 documented hours of working in a Human Services field that works with children. Must be willing and able to acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background, and FBI clearances, and first aid certification.


  • Maintain and ensure direct supervision and care of children
  • Ensure and maintain proper parent/staff relations
  • Will assist with development and implementation of lesson plans and daily schedules
  • Will develop and implement daily routines for children in the specific group to which assigned
  • Will assist with maintenance of health and safety regulations as stated in the DHS regulation manual
  • Will assist in keeping classroom stocked with appropriate paper, cleaning, first aid resources, instructional materials, and art supplies
  • Will attend monthly staff meetings as well as special seminars and training sessions as required by DHS
  • Will perform any other job duties as assigned

School Age Supervisor – Full Time Beginning in August

The YWCA is looking for a School Age Classroom Supervisor Monday through Friday. Pay will vary based on qualifications. The qualified candidate will provide high quality childcare to the children and assist in the school age program operation and management of staff. Candidates must have the ability to communicate in a clear and positive manner to the children, parents, staff and members. Degree preferred in related fields and candidates must have past supervisory experience. Candidates must be willing to work until 6:00pm.

School Age Staff – Beginning in August

The YWCA is looking for School Age child care positions at our 909 Fairfield Road location. Candidates must have at least 2500 hours experience working with children and be able to work at minimum a 3:00 pm -6:00 pm shift. Pays starts at $9.40 and varies with experience. All YWCA staff receive a rec pass included with their employment. Half-time staff and up are given PTO, and full time staff are offered full medical, dental, and vision coverage as well as several other benefits. Childcare staff must obtain the required clearances in order to work with children.

Preschool Teacher- Full Time

The YWCA main location has a full time preschool position, Monday thru Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm.   Candidate must have a degree in early childhood, elementary education or a related human services field.  Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Pay range is $11-$12 an hour depending on degree and qualifications with full comprehensive benefits.

Assistant Aquatics Director – Full Time

The YWCA is looking for a Full Time Assistant Aquatics Director. The hours will be 8:00am to 4:00pm. The YWCA offers full benefits including paid time off, company contributed retirement, vision insurance, dental insurance, medical insurance, discount on childcare, and 11 paid holidays.

The Assistant Director will be in charge of maintaining safety around the pool, managing lifeguards and creating schedules, substituting for lifeguards as need be, helping to clean to pool and pool deck, etc.


  • Must be at least a high school graduate.
  • Must have WSI certification.
  • Must be a certified Lifeguard.
  • Must be certified in Infant, child and adult CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Must be tactful and friendly in dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to enforce pertinent rules and regulations as they apply to the pool area.
  • Must be willing to update to any new American Red Cross Water Instruction classes or materials, or any other instruction program chosen by the YWCA of Gettysburg.
  • Is financially responsible for all pre-requisite training.
  • Must be a YWCA Member/Associate and support and promote the YWCA’s Mission and its goals and objectives.

Assistant Director Job Description


Swim Team Coach – Part Time

The YWCA is looking for two part time swim team coaches for the upcoming 2018 fall season. Starting at $9.20 per hour. The hours for the position will be 5:45PM-7:45PM October through February. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified, as well as first as certified.Must acquire favorable child abuse, criminal background, and FBI clearances.

Gymnastics Instructor – Part Time

The YWCA is looking for someone who can provide a FUN and energetic environment! Must have gymnastics knowledge and experience with teaching children gymnastics and/or tumbling. Must be able to prepare lesson plans, lead and demonstrate classes, and answer questions about the program. Hours are flexible. Must be CPR & First Aid Certified.

Pay based on experience.

Zumba Toning Instructor – Part Time

The YWCA is looking for a Zumba Toning Instructor. Applicants must have an upbeat attitude in order to provide a good experience for our members. Experience with Zumba is required and you must be able to conduct a class on a regular basis.

Indoor Cycling Instructor – Part Time

The YWCA is looking for an indoor cycling instructor to lead our cycling class. Applicants must have an upbeat attitude in order to provide a good experience for our members. Must be able to coach class members on cycling and create workouts for the class. Hours are flexible.

Lifeguard – Part Time

Do you have a desire to improve lives through exercise? Join a team where you grow and learn while having a fun! The YWCA is currently looking for energetic and driven individuals who want to make a difference.

  • Lifeguards monitor pool activities and ensures member safety.
  • Lifeguards need to possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures.
  • To help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by the YWCA.
  • To ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert throughout an entire shift.
  • Additional job duties a lifeguard performs include preparing activity and incident reports and performing pool maintenance.

  • Applicants must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications.

Sharks Swim Team Head Coach – Part Time

Candidate must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. Experience is preferred but training is available. Candidates must be willing to work weeknights between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. and some Saturdays between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. between October and February.

Masters Swim Coach – Part Time

Candidate must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or acquire them within 6 months of employment), and have at least 2 years of experience in coaching a swim team.  Candidate must also be a member of USMS.

Swim Instructor – Part Time

WSI certification required for this position. Must have current American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED. Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school-age group swim lessons. We are looking for individuals with flexibility.
