pool and whirlpool rules
It is the responsibility of everyone who uses the
YWCA pool and whirlpool to read and follow the rules. These rules are intended
for your safety. Failure to abide by
these rules could result in suspension of pool privileges, injuries, and
death. Please consult a physician before
beginning any form of exercise.
1)
Obey the YWCA Aquatic Staff at all times. They have final say for all rules.
2)
Talking to the lifeguard is discouraged.
3)
Always shower before swimming and between pool and whirlpool
use.
4)
Children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by
an adult at least 17 years old. The
adult must remain in the pool the entire time the child is in the pool.
5)
Only those who have demonstrated their swimming ability to
the lifeguard’s satisfaction will be permitted in the deep water. (Swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters of front
crawl and tread water for one minute.)
6)
Equipment is to be used for its intended use only. Some equipment is for instructional use
only. The lifeguard has the final say
in what equipment is used in the pool.
7)
Floatation devices may not be substituted for swimming
ability in deep water.
8)
No diving in shallow water.
9)
Jump in only from the ends of the pool - the ends are
nearest to the locker rooms and the starting blocks.
10)
The starting blocks are for swim team and instructional use
only.
11)
Lap lanes are for lap swimming only. Lap lanes must be shared and circle swimming
is required when there are more than 2 swimmers in each lane.
12)
Do not hang on the lane lines.
13)
Foul language and improper behavior will not be tolerated in
the pool, whirlpool, or locker room areas.
14)
Food and beverages (except water bottles) are not permitted
in the pool, whirlpool, or locker room areas.
15)
Glass is not permitted in the pool, whirlpool, or locker
room areas.
16)
Chewing gum is not permitted in the pool, whirlpool, or
locker room areas.
17)
No running at any time.
18)
All infants and toddlers must wear a swim diaper while in
the pool if not potty trained.
1)
The whirlpool may be used only by Rec Pass members age 18
and over.
2)
It is suggested that everyone consult a physician before
using the whirlpool.
3)
Always shower before using the whirlpool and between pool
and whirlpool use.
4)
Do not submerge your head in the whirlpool.
5)
Anyone requiring assistance to use the whirlpool must
provide his or her own assistance.
6)
Improper behavior in the whirlpool will not be tolerated.
7)
Remaining in the whirlpool for longer than 15 minutes may be
dangerous to your health.

whirlpool hours at the Service Desk.
