Locally incorporated in 1929 when Irene Danner Reinewald
bequeathed her home on Our mission is to promote greater understanding of our own community's
rich diversity and build a foundation from which to build a more just society
for all residents through a wide and ambitious range of programs and
services. More than childcare and a health and fitness facility, we serve a
variety of people, young and old, with broad programming initiatives and
partnerships. The YWCA is home to
dozens of community programs, including a nationally recognized Elderhostel
site bringing more than 1000 visitors to The YWCA is also a
service organization. Through local
organization and agency partnerships we are able to bring a better quality of
life to many of the special needs populations in our community. Our fitness area and indoor heated pool are
used for physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and obesity programming. We offer a RoboLab
club encouraging 5th and 6th grade girls to explore careers in science,
engineering and to underserved youth and youth-at-risk through joint
programming with four local service agencies. Community programming brings education,
nutrition and health classes, blood screenings, blood drives and volunteer
